- 3G camera is one of the world’s most accurate
- Video footage helps support fleets speed up FNOL claims
- New platform offers fleets a mobile App, faster access to reports and driver coaching
Hubio Fleet has launched its new integrated 3G vehicle camera and tracking unit to coincide with a complete upgrade of its Fleet Manager platform.
The unit which is suitable for installation in a car, van or truck combines all the benefit of a telematics unit with GPS vehicle tracking and driver behaviour monitoring, with a high quality camera all in one unit. It ensures an incident is captured on film to help protect the fleet industry against the growing problem of staged accidents which is increasing insurance premiums.
It records high quality images, even in low light conditions, which are automatically uploaded via the Cloud to the Fleet Manager platform over a private 3G network. This reduces the need to retrieve footage from an SD card, which speeds up the time it takes to view an incident and start the First Notification of Loss FNOL process.
Small enough to be mounted on the windscreen under the rear view mirror or on top of a vehicle dash it also provides drivers with a panic button which can be used in the event of a personal concern or emergency.
“Our 3G unit has been developed to provide a powerful range of tracking services with video imagery to the fleet manager while being quick and easy to install,” explained Russell Olive, Hubio Fleet’s general manager.
“With the majority of larger fleets being self insured the camera plays a vital role in providing filmed assets to support the First Notification of Loss. The assets help support and speed up taking control of the vehicle recovery and repair which is vital in helping keep incident management costs down. Video footage can also support fleets if a claim reaches court,” he added.
Hubio’s upgraded Fleet Manager platform includes increased functionality including driver coaching tools to help address persistent offenders, a customisable tool bar to quickly enable users to access fleet reports, and a mobile App which enables fleet managers to keep an eye on vehicles while they are away from the office via their smart phone.
